It continued to hover in front of her eyes, but they’d long since snapped shut. Her arm remained before her, but now only functioned to block out the distracting light of day, as it rested against her forehead and conferred a soothing warmth. Her lips remained wide open, but now only a slow, soft succession of breaths passed between.

Unexpectedly easy. A glance had been more than enough.
